What a season this has been. One of the closest Premierships for many years, when we’ve had a good look at both ends of the table, and we definitely prefer the view from the top end. It is still not over as today we are one of three clubs looking to finish the season in 5th place, something that looked like an impossible dream just a few short months ago.
As you are well aware, the atmosphere at the Gtech has been building throughout the season, with the passion in the stands reflecting that on the pitch. Supporters old and new are adding their voices to the soundscape.
At the Supporters Club (LISC) we have seen membership steadily rising across the season, and with good reason. Being part of the club costs just £10 per season (£5 for our younger members), and comes with some amazing benefits.
During 2022-23 we organised a number of events exclusive for LISC members, including informal sessions with Brad Davis, Craig Doyle, Chunya Munga, Lucas Brooke, Michael Dykes, Ben Atkins, and Matt Williams. We hosted an Italian evening at Hazelwood where we shared a meal and a few laughs with Danilo Fischetti, Giosuè Zilocchi and Luca Morisi.
We’ve had interesting and informative evenings with Patrick O’Grady and the London Irish Academy, and with the Rugby Players Association including our own RPA rep James Stokes.
LISC provides support for our members, including travel guides for away matches, organising meet-ups and discounts when away in Europe, facilitating match tickets in South Africa, as well as providing a link to the rugby club. We have regular meetings with London Irish and with the other Premiership supporters’ clubs, enabling us to share information for the benefit of our members.
During this season LISC members won signed shirts from Lovejoy Chawatama, Ben Atkins and Tarek Haffar, as well as hospitality at the Stormers and Exeter home games. Members also get a LISC card, badge and car sticker, a regular email newsletter, and vote for our Player of the Season, as well as the satisfaction of being part of the friendliest supporters club in the land. LISC made donations to the Academy, Motor Neurone Disease Association, the Jarrod Cunningham Bursary and the RPA Restart charity.
