Stefanus Johannes “Faan” Rautenbach was born in February 1976 in Bethlehem, South Africa.

Faan’s London Irish career ran from 2005 through to 2012, he made 137 appearances for the exiles (including 100 in the Premiership), scoring 2 tries.

Faan was part of the side that reached the Heineken Cup Semi Finals in 2008.

Faan has also played for Western Province and the Stormers.

Faan won 14 caps for South Africa, including playing in 4 matches in the 2003 World Cup.
