Sale Sharks – Friday 15th September, 8:00pm
Details updated on 17th August

Sale Sharks play their home matches at the AJ Bell Stadium, which is close to Junction 11 on the M60. The details below are mainly from the Sale Sharks website and local transport websites – travel options are listed on the Sale Sharks website.

TRAIN: The nearest Train Stations with bus connections to the stadium are:
Irlam, Patricroft and Eccles.

You can get to Irlam Train Station from – Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly & Manchester Oxford Road. From Irlam the 100 bus picks up and drops off on Liverpool Road, five minutes walk from the stadium.
From Eccles station walk across the road to Eccles Interchange Bus Station and catch the number 67 bus.
From Patricroft station walk to the A57 and the bus service number 100 will take you to Liverpool Road near the stadium. The bus leaves Patricroft and journeys to the stadium via the Trafford Centre

The nearest Metrolink station is Eccles. The Metrolink runs every 12 minutes from Manchester city centre to Eccles. From Eccles Metrolink, cross the road to Eccles Interchange Bus Station and catch the Number 67 bus to the stadium. Metrolink services run from Eccles to Manchester every 12 minutes until 1.08am

From London, Virgin Trains run a direct service from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. Journey times are a little over hours each way. A day trip is not possible.

From Reading – a day trip is not possible – CrossCountry trains run a direct service to Manchester Piccadilly – however when travelling back on the Saturday or Sunday, it is a replacement bus between Didcot and Reading.
Travelling via London looks to be slightly cheaper and travel times for the outward journey are similar. Avoiding the replacement bus makes the return journey a fair bit quicker – but if returning on the Sunday it appears that there are no trains between London Paddington & Reading.

COACH: There is a direct National Express coach service from London Victoria to Manchester – there are over night coaches leaving Manchester at 11:50pm and 00:15am (Saturday morning), so a day trip is possible.
Journeys from Reading-Mereoak require changing coaches at London Victoria – a day trip is possible using the overnight services leaving Manchester at 11:50pm and 00:15am (Saturday morning).
From Manchester you would need to use local train/metrolink/bus services described above.

CAR: For those driving – see details from the Sale Sharks website. Although the website doesn’t seem to give much detail at present.
Car Park tickets are available from the Sale Sharks website.

MATCH TICKETS: Tickets are available from the Sale Sharks website. Our match is Category C, with prices ranging from £22 (standing) to £56 (platinum seats) – but £28 or £32 for most seats.
