The London Irish Supporters Club (LISC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at Hazelwood, the home of London Irish on Thursday 1st November 2018 from 7.30pm. We are asking for as many members to attend this years AGM as a matter of importance to be discussed is a proposal from the Committee to become a Supporters Trust.
Over the course of the previous season, the LISC committee has investigated the possibility of converting to a fully fledged Supporters Trust, in what would be the biggest change to our organisation since its formation 20 years ago.
A Supporters Trust is an independent, democratic, not-for-profit, community based organisation that seeks to give supporters a collective voice in the running of a club.
It is a more formal body (regulated by the FCA) than a Supporters Club but crucially will still run the same events, activities, and the LISC Committee has investigated this as a potential evolution for LISC to serve a role for London Irish supporters as we move forward into a new era for the club and rugby.
Nicola Hudson from Supporters Direct has aided these initial conversations and we are now in a position to announce these more fully to our membership and more importantly take stock of members feedback and concerns.
There will be a series of events ahead of any potential vote, open to all LISC members, which would be announced in due course. There would be no vote at the AGM to make this change.
Committee Positions Open
In addition, we have due to the passing of David Blowers and members stepping down a number of committee positions open for members or new members to come onboard and are accepting nominations for;
- Hon. Treasurer
- General committee positions on Events, Communications, Merchandising
